Ribbed Fringe Garter Stitch Scarf


Making a scarf with the fringe built into it just makes sense. Especially for those of us who are to lazy to ever get the fringe on the scarf. This luscious scarf is easy to make and very fast with the bulkiness of the yarn and big needles.

Materials:
Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn (held 4 strands together)
Handicrafter Cotton Colonial Colors, 14 oz, approx 700 yrds
Size US 19 Needles
Needle to sew in ends

Gauge:
Doesn't matter, it's a scarf

Skills:
Casting on and binding off in 1x1 rib
garter stitch
1x1 rib stitch

Instructions:
Cast on 16 sts using the 1x1 rib cast on method
Holding 4 strands together, work in 1x1 rib stitch (k1, p1 across. next row knit the k, purl the p) for 8 inches
Next Row: K2tog across (8 stitches)
Continue working in Garter stitch (knit all rows) until you reach the desired length of your scarf or when it is approximately 60 inches long.
Next row: Knit in front and back of all stitches across (16 sts)
Work in 1x1 rib for 8 inches.
Bind off using the 1x1 rib method.
Weave in loose ends.
